epox mobo revisions

Question epox mobo revisions


I have got a refurbed epox bord 8kta3 from new egg and am wondering if the bios will be the newest one or will I need to flash it?
the bord has rev 1.0 on it now. thanks for all help in advance.

You will probably have to flash if you want the newest bios version.

flashing is something that i have never done (scares the heck out of me) if i do have to flash i will come here for the lowdown.

I think I would flash if I was you. I just got a rev. 1.1 board, and it had an out-dated bios, so I can't see how the rev. 1.0 can have a newer one.

I have done flashes many times, it's not that hard, don't be so afraid.

no matter how many flashes you do, they're always nerve-wracking! i had a flash stop midway on my a7v, and the computer hung. there was nothing to do but hit the reset button and pray! luckily it booted, but the experience did my heart no good, i can tell you! ;-)

true.....i was flashing my friends kt7a 3rbios and it hang at 80%...reset and nothing comes on.....luckily he found someone to flash the chip for him
