This is on my second computer (used mainly for the internet), not my main rig. It had a maxtor diamondmax 9 7200rpm 60gig (2meg) as it's main drive. I saw another one avalable for 19$ after rebate so I couldn't pass it up. I already had a siig raid controler that was incompatible with my hitachi 160gig drives (in my main rig) that I got stuck with. I intended to benchmark a single drive and then benchmark it after the raid But I was having problems with norton ghost and completly forgot to benchmark it (dang it). So here are my results with two maxtor 7200rpm, 60gig (2meg ram) drives. They are rated 9.3ms ata133.

I'm not sure what results to give from atto benchmark but with length 32, queue 10 I got reads in the 90's from 16-1024 (1024 was 96) and writes in the 90's for 512/1024, 80's for 32-256.

Considering that these are cheap (and certainly not the fastest) drives, does it sound like I am getting a decent performance boost from the raid? Any opinions?

Thanks! So I can assume that I am getting a decent little performance increase from this?
