You either need to stop the service via the services snapin or you can throw a simple command into a bat file to stop the service then another bat file to start it again. Syntax:

To start the service:
net start F@H

To stop the service:
net stop F@H

No, there isnt. You could go into services and stop it when you need too, just make sure to restart it.

I have found tho, thru multipule benchmarks(3dmark01+03,P95,Aquamark3d and CPU Hot Tester) that F@H really doesnt affect it. I have run each with and without F@H and there is very little difference. Nothing that I would EVER notice in real world situations.

There are 'batch files' you can use to sort of pause it, and I am sure someone will be by soon to show you them.

EDIT: See, he even beat me to it.

For the service to stop type this in notepad, save as a .bat file:

sc stop FAH

To restart it:

sc start FAH

that simple.

Put the files whereever you want. I typically keep a directory on my HD for bat files. Then I make a shortcut to the file wherever I want to launch it from (quick launch bar, start bar, desktop etc)

You can put it anywhere. Hit the stop FAH batch file to pause (stop) it and the start FAH batch file to start it again. But after you stop it you have to wait about 10 sec before starting it again or else corruption can occur.

Also instead of batch file you can juse go to start>run and type sc stop FAH or sc start FAH

Oh yea and if you have the dually or hyperthreading install you will have to use
sc stop FAH1
sc stop FAH2

sc start FAH1
sc start FAH2
