Anyone here use 1and1.com?

I signed up with 1and1.com last year when they were offering 3 years of free web hosting. However, I can't figure out how to enable "append" for my ftp server. I am unable to resume uploads, and can't figure out how to enable "append" or "resume". Can anyone help?

Not to threadjack but how do you like their hosting service? I am looking for a service and was looking at them.
