I've bumped up my Athlon 2800 to run at 2.3ghz stable. I usually hit about 6800 in 3dMark 2001. Now I overclocked my 9600SE to 324mhz/258mhz using Radclocker and the most I can get is 7000 points. What am I doing wrong? For my system specs (compared to others) I should be hitting past 10,000. I need help! Here are my specs:

AMD Athlon XP 2800 oc'd 2.3ghz
ASUS NF7-S Rev 2.0 Mobo
1gig DDR333 RAM
9600SE oc'd 324/258

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

hmmm, thats interesting. i get 12000 is 3dmark01. you should be able to get 470 from your core

you are only getting 7k from a 9600se?

wow. mine got 10k

But mine is allso clocked at 550/385

Try getting a good heatsink and some ramsinks on that and OC it to its max. My 9200np almost beat my 9600se at stock speeds so oc the total bejeusus out of it. I recomment using a Tt giant three and a pelier for the the core and a few good ramsinks.

Well actually I thought I overclocked it but I guess I didn't. It always resets to stock speeds whenever I close the program. I made sure of this by getting the omega drivers and overclocking it through there but the same happened. I guess my BIOS is locked. Where can I get a BIOS to allow me to overclock my 9600SE? By the way, thanks for the replies guys.

Thanks

By the way, I have a modded fan attached to it..my case never goes higher than 40C on load..

Are you setting the 3d options in the control panel to "optimal performance" if not that is what is dragging your scores down.

Yup, and my card is overclocked from 400/600 > 429/642, without my overclock I get around 999*.
