AMD codenames = UK Cities?


Im from the UK and i just wondered are some of the a64's named after our cities? seeing as we have a newcastle up north and winchester is where i go to college. cant say i have seen clawhammer ne where tho

If you look at their road map, they are going to be producing a core code named "paris" and "Toledo" quite soon, I know where paris is, but Toledo?

Sledgehammer and clawhammer were the 2 first cores of Hammer.
Starting the NewCastle, they began giving the chips names of cities all over the world.
Toledo is a city as well

Well, intel's mobile chips are named after cities in Israel. Not sure about the other intel chips though.

All the cores' code names have something to do with horses. Winchester, Clawhammer, Thoroughbred, Palomino, etc.

yeah AMD names their chips after things/place. Before their was thunderbird (plane), and some horsie names. now its places.
