I don't know the diffrence between OpenGL, Direct 3D, or 3DFX. I'm an idiot so kill me... I was wondering the benifits of them and what is diffrent about each of them. Thanks
They are all just different API's for video cards to use to run the games. Everyone prefers different ones. It also depends on the video card you have and the game your trying to play. Like UT runs best in 3DFX Glide. But you need a 3DFX video card to run it in glide. In which case I have to use D3D for UT. Some other games like HalfLife use Open GL. I think D3D gives the best color and image but Open GL seems to be faster in my opinion.
