How far can you take a 3.4e on air?

I was planning on using Thermalright's new XP-90 with the 3.4e. I don't need 4.0 ghz maybe something like 3.8 would be ok. Water cooling isn't in the forecast for me this year. I'm currently running a MSI NEO-2 (865) with PNY3500 at 5:4, 2.6c and Enermax 600w ps.
Would I be better off with a 3.2e?

yes save money and get the 3.2 d0 and u will get the 3.8 form it

With your mobo I don't know if I would go with a prescott. I would rather go with a Northwood.
