Hang on Boot with USB hub plugged in ??

I've just acquired a Gigabyte k8ns pro mobo with an AMD 64 3000+

The problem I'm having is this: if I try to boot up with my usb hub attached, it takes FOREVER to get past the initial boot screen, and when I finally get into XP, it's a bit sluggish.

But if I unplug the hub, it boots right up, and all is good. Seems to only happen if I try to boot with the hub plugged in. If I plug the hub in after windows is running, everything's fine.

I've updated the bios, and have a fresh install of XP. So how can I get it so that I don't have to keep unplugging my USB hub every time I reboot?

this is a long shot, but it worked for me (slightly different problem with different board: windows would lock up at boot when all 3 SATA drives of mine were connected). I increased the memory voltage (and set my memory timings manually), agp voltage, and v-link voltage to max. I will be decreasing them individually to see which one is the culprit (probably the memory voltage though).

Thanks for the responses guys...I finally figured it out.

The printer I had attached to the hub had built in memory card slots, and every time I booted it treated them as a usb drive and tried to boot from them.

For now, all I have to do is make sure the printer is turned off when I boot and all is well

Thanks again
