I am wanting to network 2 to 4 computers together at my parent's house and use the roadrunner connection . The connection inly has one ip. I know a little about networking. I set up one at work so using DHCP and stuff is easy. The question is since a regular hub will not handle NAT (I guess that is what I want to use) which hub is the cheapest and easiest to use? I have a sonicwall at work that handles NAT but I don't want to drop $2000 at home for a network.

Also I have a standard 5 port soho hub , but I can only get one computer to access the internet at a time. It networks the computers together just fine though.

check out a linksys router that has as many ports as you will need. You can also search this forum for more information about routers that perform NAT. I would help you more but there's good information here and I'm tired tonight.

I prefer the SMC Barricade, it is easy to setup, performs NAT, Has a built-in Print server, you can share cable, DSL, or Dialup if your DSL/Cable fails.

They come in a few different versions, 7004 has a 4 port switch and the 7008 has an 8 port switch.

I use AT&T@Home, formerly Roadrunner, and I just replaced my 4 port Linksys hub with a 4 port Linksys router. It has IP spoofing, which allows you to plug in the MAC address of the NIC you gave to Roadrunner, so you don't even have to let them know you're changing your setup. It took about 15 minutes to change it all over, and cost less than $80 shipped with a rebate from Amazon.
