can see HD in windows but I can't see it in bios Help

O.K I have a hard drive, wester digital ata100, when I boot computer I can't see it in bios posting also it take much longer to boot when this hard drive is hooked up to the sysem, after a while of waiting system boots, I can see hard drive in windows and fully use it, there is no performance problems in windows with this hard drive. I tried putting the pin selectin for master and slave but nothing seems to work, do you think this hard drive will die or have technical prblems soon, any help would be appreciated,



Oh yeah, I tried installing windows on the hard drive but this hard drive like I said doesn't apprear in bios so during installation it tells me that there is no hard drive availabe for installation.
