System:

ABIT NF7-S V2.0 BIOS 2.6
AMD Barton 2500+ at 166MHz*11
Kingston KHX3500K2/1G at 333MHz 8-3-3-3
Saphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB

The system is very stable at the the mentioned clock speeds - Prime95 runs overnight without any problems, gaming is fine, no crashes.

Tried to overclock both CPU and memory but with no success. With a processor running at 200Mhz*11 (or 166 * 13.5) and memory at 400MHz 6-3-2-2 Windows boots fine and I have no problem with internet browsing, but the system is extremely unstable:
Even with a stock processor speed and memory speed at 400MHz 8-3-3-3 Prime95 fails to complete the initial test cycle (in less than 15 seconds), all more or less serios 3d games just hang up or and crash after 5-15 minutes.

Any ideas? :bang head

Try switching the middle 2 with a 3 and the middle 3 with the 2 at @ 200 fsb. You should also be able to do 2-2-2 @ 166 fsb.

Also try running memtest86 or a Prime95 blend test to see if its the RAM.

Tried 200*11MHz on CPU and 400MHz on RAM with 11-3-3-3 timings and 2.8V.
Prime95 fails to complete the initial test cycle.

I'm sorry, but I didn't quite understood what other methods are (apart from increasing timings to 11-2-2-2 and raising voltage).

As I said before, on 166MHz*11 CPU and 333MHz RAM w 8-3-3-3 timings and 2.6 volts the system works perfectly.

At 200MHz*11 CPU and 400MHz RAM 6-3-2-2 the system boots fine and I can browse internet and do other stuff, but on any serious load like 3D game or Prim95 the system just hangs up or crashes.

11-3-3-3 timings and 2.8volts do not help at all.

Memtest86 is a program that boots from a floppy or CD and is probably the best memory stability tester out there. Use this instead of Prime to see if its the memory.

Also, try each stick individually to see if its bad.

Memtest86 runs fine overnight without any errors, but it doesn't produce any serious load. But Prime95 or any 3D game fail badly (crashing or locking up the computer).

As I understand after reading ABIT forums, Kingston KHX3500K2/1G (2 modules) doesn't work in dual chanel mode @ 180+MHz, no matter what timings and voltages are. Looks like a compatibility issue with Nforce2 chipsed used on NF7-S V2.0 m/b.

Unfortunately, Kingston doesn't have any replacement for this memory kit. There's is a revised KHX3500A2, but it is CL2.5 and 512MB max.

Try a CPC disabled BIOS (2T command rate). Or if you return, see if you can return for credit and get a discount towards KHX3200UL.

Tried already - no luck. Regarding the exchange, they don't do it after 30 days since the date of purchase and that's my case. I gonna use Visa Gold warranty exchange to get a refund.

Probably gonna get this one Mushkin 1GB Dual Pack (2x512MB) PC3200 222 LII V2 (
http://www.mushkin.com/epages/Mushk...800addab42740c0a8010206a5/Product/View/991357 ) since there's only $20 difference.

Can anyone confirm that it works without any problems on NF7-S Rev.2 ?
