The Folding/UPS Answer

Well I think I've found something out. I recently installed XP on my dual here, and am using the built in windows UPS function instead of the APC software. Had a brief brownout and it clicked on, one of my instances responded with:

[01:58:30] + Running on battery power. Pausing work until computer is plugged in.
[01:58:30] Suspending work thread...
[01:59:30] + Off battery, restarting core.
[01:59:30] Resuming work thread...

The other instance did not respond, although the UPS was only on very brielfy. So great! I can get some longer battery life now automatically (since it folds 24/7). Looks like it polls for battery every 1 minute.

The newest folding software has the ability to pause folding when on battery power usually for laptops but I guess it works with UPS's also.
