Noobie question- Can optical drives run on its side?

yes they can they usually have a clip like weird thing in the drive bay which you can slide in another position so it can run vertically
i am about 99% sure about this though, so dont hurt me if im wrong *angelface*

um ya they work find on there side but the clips dont help mutch.
the drives some times close to fast and well lets just say its a pain.
but i had my pc run on its side for about a month (i needed artic adheasive for my NB)

but they run fine same with your HD

And make this a third post verifying it My parent's Gateway has a CD that runs by default in this location, and has had no troubles since they got the thing a year ago.
