noisy pci blowerfan

i had a small green pci slot blowerfan for a while and it didnt seem to be much help
i went on ebay and bought a biger black blower fan and it helped alot
i turned my computer back on the next morning and the fan was making an unual loud humming noise.
i opened the pc and stoped the fan then started it again

what seems to be my problem and how might i go about fixing it because opening my case eveytime i start is getting anoying

Is it a real blower? Or one of those designed specifically for cooling the computer? If it's one of those cheesy computer ones then chances are the bearings are shot, just take it out find the sticker that covers the motor assembly then put in a few drops of machine oil. That'll do it.
