You can see the superiority of the Doom3 engine, in its superior rendering of dark areas, such as the shadow of the rock.

its all over come 11/16
watch, no new threads or posts will exist on the forum for at least 3 days, everyone just too busy playing HL2 feverishly

then after that the only posts will be in games forum for a day or two, then we may finally see technical discussion again

that was dissapointing for me about doom. all those nice textures and good looking monsters, and all of it too dark to see.

So true, also its kinda strange that the original doom was known for being small and able to play on cheap computers and now, its like, well our new game is so good that the new video cards that cost a jillion dollars won't even play it to full potential yet.

but look closely at the face on the rock.. as you can see in the doom3 shot, it is not frowning at all. it is screaming, covered with blood, and on fire
