usb keyboard with neo2 plat

i've got a buddy that has the neo2 platinum and fx-55. everything seems to be working alright, except that the usb keyboard he has stops functioning after the windows xp cd loads, so he can't install xp. he can go into the bios and move around in there, but the xp install is a no-go. the usb -> ps/2 adapter he has is dead, so that's not an option. is there anything he can do to get it up and running tonight? tomorrow, he can go and get a new ps/2 adapter, but that's tomorrow.... have any of you had problems like this with usb keyboards? if so, how did you fix it? thanks.

Well I had the same problem with my USB mouse, with my PS/2 keyboard. Its a known problem at the MSI forums.

I dont know of anyway to fix it. Other then make sure USB is enabled in the BIOS

I know you must keep both mouse and keyboard on the same "channel", if one is USB and the other not it will cause problem, and as Osirus said it must be enabled in the bios settings...
