ATI 9800 Pro - is AA on or off?

Hi,

I am using the basic drivers from ATI.com. I was curious how I can tell if the AA is on or off.

Thanks,
Rich

Go into the display properties. Right click desktop and go to properties. Go to the settings tab and click advenced. From there click on the 3D tab and it will tell you all the settings.

It says application preference. Do most apps have AA on by default? If I force it to always on, will that affect windows desktop performance (non gaming)?

No affect on non-gaming performance. The card is not stretched to do any 3D rendering. Most games have AA off by default but some can change in the options screen of the game.
