The mods will be keeping this thread up to date. Please do not post in this thread unless you have some input on the list, on how it may be improved or what may be wrong with it.

Thank you.

Could you elaborate on some instances where one might PM a Admin vs a Mod?

There are really few instances when an Mod cannot help.

You may need to contact an Admin if it is regarding issues with a Moderator, issues regarding forum settings and structure, or issues regarding forum policy. Think of Admins as mods with a bigger (and more fun) toolkit.

I never got this quite clear, Are all mods able to moderate all section on the forums? or are they limited to a certain section? Or does this depend on the moderator?

thanks

Every mod can moderate all sections of the forums.

I am just a bit curious:

Where and how are the mods and admins found/recruited?

Are they paid, if it is OK to ask?

No mod or admin has ever been paid. Mods are recruited from the Senior Member pool.

To become a Senior, someone must nominate you, then the mods vote on it. You have to be a truly outstanding member in order to become a senior.

Put strike-through tag on inaccurate list that we don't keep updated. Replaced with explanation of staff stars, and link to forum staff list. The top of the forum staff list is maintained regularly, and those are the people typically most active who are best to contact with questions.
