Personal Goals

Howdy everyone,

I was thinking the other day about some of my personal goals with SETI and I thought I would post and see if anyone else uses them. Since I have been crunching SETI the last two years I have created several sets of goals for my own amusement. Currently I am working towards the top 1/8th % of SETI users by total W/Us, and I am also working towards 7500 total W/Us. Along with these simple goals I am working towards reaching the top 5000 users by total W/Us. I usually pull some rough numbers out of the air as far as time required etc. just to see how I am doing over time.

Enough about me, does anyone else create similar personal goals? What stats interest you? Come on, spill the beans!

Well I just made the top 100 so that goal is gone so now im looking at the top 75.
A long term goal is to be in the 99th percential.

And the goal im concertrating on the most is 20+ WU's a day.

My personal goal of all time has been to be one of the "elite" 1% of all WUs people. Shorter term goal has been to get into the top 5%, and I'm really close. Also, I am hoping to somehow crunch 1000 WUs. With my WU/day average though... That may take some time.

Oh yeah! Last goal is to be part of the team that is at the #1 spot. Didn't want to join the #1 team without any idea who they even were, so I joined you guys. You had better not dissapoint me!

I'm still close to the bottom so I haven't comitted myself to end goals. For now I'm concentrating on small milestones (footstones? Inchstones?) Next ones up are 100wu's and 300th place within our team. And, courtesy of this reply I've hit post #500!

I'd like to get into the top 1000. I'm not sure if that's possible or how long it will take, but I'm just shy of being in the top 2000.

you are about 1/2 way to the top 1000, think you need a few more crunchers to make it there anytime soon but I think you can do it in time

So the top 1000 are roughly in the 20,000+ range? I saw somebody bragging over at TLC that another one of their members made it into the top 1000. Maybe Chawken and I can be the first for our team. Supercoolin has the most units, but I noticed his production has been around 1 per day lately - unless the spreadsheet is screwing that up too.

Looks like quite a few people that participate in this type of thing set some kind of goals for themselves. It's good to see what everyone else likes to track.

Well firstoff I'd like to become one of the top 10 in the Overclockers.com Seti Team, then become one of the few top 1,000 SETI crunchers Worldwide.. I know the second would probbaly take years.. But anything is possible!! Just let me get a hold of a few 64 bit Amd hammer Processors and I'll show you, hehe

Not a bad goal - but you'll hit it quite a bit before I do. I'm in the top 9800 right now, and it will take about 90 days to get where you are right now, TC. You go ahead and get the honors, and I will be a few weeks behind you.

My original goal was to get to 5000 before my 1 year anniversary (February 20th, 2002) - by next weekend I will have achieved that - so my goal now is to be at 12,500 on my 1 year anniversary.
