Unplug your internet connection.

No IP = No Internet.

NO IP ADDRESS MEANS NO INTERNET CONNECTION. PLEASE DO NOT USE ALL CAPS. Thank you.

Edit: Do you not want to be tracked or something? What is it you are trying to accomplish?

There is no way to "turn off" your IP address when you're using the net since the protocol used (TCP/IP) requres that all computers on the network have an IP address to work. The best you can do is to use a proxy so that instead of your IP address shoing up at the server, the proxy's IP shows up, but this may or may not be legal depending on wether you have permission to use the proxy.

exactly

your IP is like your house address - with out it - your house does not exist to anyone trying to find it - so to say.

Can we ask why you want to get rid of it?

Your IP is like your Telephone Number when your on the internet. You can't Make telephone calls without a telephone just as you cant go on the internet without an IP

Right...........In that case, just release and renew your IP, you should get a new one. That or unplug the modem over night, and reconnect it in the morning. If you still have the same IP, call your ISP, and ask them to release your IP and asign you a new one.

there is no hacker after you....

unless you really pissed someone off....

a firewalll telling you someone is trying to hack you is probabbly a simple ping

There is no way in the world to 'remove' your IP address.
without an IP address (or mac address) no information can be passed to your computer. it has no clue where to send it to.
get it ?
so no you cant remove or have no ip address.

of course ther are way to "hide" ur IP address and such, but im no hacker and nor would i need to hide my IP address

there is no way to hide your ip address if someone already has it...

you can only mask it, and its still very easy to get

I work for an ISP. You can do 2 things:

1. Ask the ISP to assign new IP. Release/renew is the right idea, but 90% of the time, you get the same IP back.

2. The ISP will probably tell you to detail the 'hacker' items at their abuse site. If it is just a ping probe picked up by your firewall, meh. If it is a hacker, which it could be, but most likely not, they will be able to track things down and help you on that end.
Remember, this is from our abuse page, so....
"For a hacking complaint, you must submit an excerpt from a firewall log"

Hope that helps.
