Generic best vid card question

Yes, I know these questions are generic and always around, but I just wanted to hear if from the knowlegdable horses mouth so to speak. I've been out of the computer scene lately, so...
What is the Best nVidia AGP card out there right now?
is it still the 6800GT or w/e... what brand? Now, not the state of the art $1k cards, just the usually in the store$500 or so card.
