Ok my friend gave me some SDRAM to add to my server, now how can i find out its PCxxxx ?? is there a program that can tell me this stuff

im not even sure if SDRAM uses a PCxxxx identification, so could somebody answer those questions?

Older sdram does have a pc-xxx rating system, but instead of being rated by the bandwidth in mb/s, its rated by its speed in mhz. So instead of pc2100, pc2700 etc, its rated as pc100, pc66, pc133 and so on. A program like cpu-z might be able to tell you the speed of the memory, I know it works for ddr.

you can usually find out by looking at the memory modules themselves. Most come with some sort of ID, maybe a sticker. Otherwise, you can usually read the markings on the IC and come away with a pretty good idea of how fast it can go.

yea i first thought of that, but it didnt have any stickers on it, cos i knew that on the ones i had it stated its speed but he didnt have a sticker on his. Ill check CPU-Z and see if it tells me.
