laptop help

i want to buy a laptop, preferably amd athlon. i want to know which laptop's or cpu's in the laptops can i upgrade/replace. Like, if i buy a laptop that has a 2200+ can i buy a 3000+mobile and put that in there?? which low end cpus can be replaced by the newer bartons. If this works with the amd64, even better.
