northwood or prescott?
newegg has the 3.0e socket 478 prescott for $181.00
this is suppose to be the E0 stepping.

What makes you think it's a E0 stepping? I would probably guess that you would get a D0 stepping cause the E0's are just becoming available to OEM manufacturers.

But if you do get an E0 stepping please let us know how it goes.

Good luck

Ed

when i check the newegg model # vs. the intel spec sheet it shows it's the E0 stepping.

Notes

The order code only refers to the model (i.e. 3GHz 800FSB S478 Prescott), not the sSpec, so could be SL79L (C0), SL7E4 (D0), SL7PM (E0) -they all share the same order code. I guess there is a better chance of getting the latest with an OEM rather than boxed though.

So anyway, what did you get?
