Has anybody (atleast the mainstream players) thought about using wireless (RF) data-transfer schemes between the CPU and peripherals. Someone in here was talking about delays in A64 implementation of DDR2 because of the length of the interconnects. Why not use RF instead of physical data-paths? Why not use RF for all CPU-component communication? Is there a fundamental limiting factor?
I'd envision a motherboard with full wireless capability, eliminating the need for wired interconnects. This would logically eliminate bandwidth bottlenecks and may standardize current MoBo technology.
