cpu temp 60degrees +++

my athlon (1.4ghz) (first athlon made)
it is not o/c but is running at 60 degrees and much higher
all the fans are working

thats a bit too high for stock speeds, what type of HSF have u got..im guessing a stock one ? Double check, ther is contact between the HS + Chip. I know for a fact, if ther is 0.1mm gap between the HS+chip, The temperatures will ROCKET up. at 20c and more
so double check that

60C is within limits for .18 Athlons. IIRC the maximum continuous operating temperature is either 85 or 90C. I'd check your fans and your heatsink. If you were going to push the processor, I'd lower the temperature.

My wifes ran really hot as i think there vcore is something like 1.75, finally i replaced it with my xp2100.

thanks i checked it but it seems to be alright so maybe it just runs hot
ill haf to get a new one soon ......
