How can I measure how much sound my system is generating?

I have fans, heatsinks, and a whining hard disk.

Thank you cetoole for bringing "SPL meter" (Sound Pressure Level Meter) to my attention.

where can SPL's be bought at? i have thought of testing my system with one. With every fan on at max, the closest way i have to measure is at what point do my Logitech Z-680's finally quit being canceled? With mine, it is just over the 1/3 mark on the volume.

I think radioshack has them (don't tell people I have been there), or you can get better ones for less online. What fans do you have, and if you want to buy SPL's, just get some Tornados, each will add over 50dba to your system.
