Talking Help me wire my LCD

Alrighty then, this is the LCD i have

http://www.character-lcd-lcds.shopei...ils.asp?id=436

heres the spreadsheet/datasheet

http://www.eio.com/l1682.pdf

Now how do i wire this? i dont really have money for potentiometers (heh pretty sad) nor do i want to whip out 5 bucks for shipping 2 89 cent things so screw em, im just gonna go with resistors. But which one for the contrast and which for the backlight?

Ok so pin 1 is GND, and pin 2 is +5V, so too hook up the power i just solder a molex to it right? Put a black wire to pin 1 (GND) and then pin 2 (+5V) to a red wire? or is it yellow?

Ok now for the the back light. How do i wire this up? 15 is anode, and 16 is cathode. (cathode is positive right?) so do i just wire this directly up to the power for the lcd? what goes to what? (does the cathode got to pin 2 (+5v) or what?)

what about contrast, what do i wire that to? a resistor? if so which?

Red on a molex is 5v, yellow is 12v. There are a plethora of guides online for wiring parallel and serial LCDs. Just google it.

Without potentiometers you won't be able to adjust the contrast of your screen.

ya, my friend is e-mailing his electronics teacher (we got different classes, mines poor his is rich) that part numbers of the pots, since hes ordering from digikey soon. The 100 ohm is outta stock until like jan 18 or sometin, i dont need that though? i can just wire the backlight to gnd right? the 10k is what i really need for the contrast
