help with Xaser II 5000 fan speed controller

okay. Ive had my system for awhile now, and i just decided i should actuially setup my fan speed controller.

i looked online, and im pretty sure im doing everything exactly like it says.

i just pluged in molex for the controler, pluged the cpu fan(brown) into the white plug from the controler, and then pluged the brown plug attached to the controler into the mobo so that it would read rpms.

after all of this, i start the computer, and nothing happens on the controler. no lights, nothing happens when i switch it to medium or low. =(

what am i doing wrong? how can i make this thing work?

according to my abit EQ system monitor, my mobo can tell how fast the fan is spinning (5443 rpms which i guess is max)

the fan is a delta 68cfm fan and the mobo is an NFS-7 rev2
