Arctic silencer 3 question?

Do i need to have the memory heatsink on the card? The big white thing in these pictures.

Because the card i have is a 256meg 9800pro with 16 ram on it (8 per side). So will it still fit and hold steady without the memory heatsink.

P.S. sorry for the guys who have seen this forum before but no one will TELL ME IF IT FITS!!!!!!!!! please no "maybe" answers.
