Well, I'm leaving town tomorrow for about three and a half weeks, but my computer is in the middle of something and needs to stay on for a few days longer. However, I don't want to leave it on unattended for almost a month (electric bills and all).

Is there a way, either in Windows or with 3rd party software, that I can tell the computer in advance when to shut down? i.e. could I program it to shut down on, oh say, December 26th?

Thanks,

Odie :)

Add a scheduled task. Start | programs | accessories | system tools | scheduled tasks |click on Add a task, it will start a wizard. Then browse to windows\system32\shutdown.exe select and then select one time only. Finish the wizard. Test is first, set it to today, 30 min from now
