Pissed off at Newegg... Or should I say FedEx

I ordered a bunch of parts to build a completly new computer from newegg about a week ago. Half of the parts were coming from NJ and the rest from CA. I recived the parts from NJ on the 3rd bussinuess day. I watch the tracking stats every six hours or so and enjoyed watching the progress untill it finally arrived a head of schedule. As for the parts from CA its been over a week and the FexEx tracker says two of the packages are still at the CA sorting facility since last monday! I was wondering is FedEx known not to keep every tracking status up to date or who could I call to figure out what is happening. I understand that its the holidays and all but my other parts came ahead of schedule like I said above. Also anyone know if they ship this friday or on sundays?

I'd consult Newegg's customer service at this point. If the package has not moved for an entire week there is definetly something wrong--either the package is misplaced or lost entirely. Worst case scenario is that Newegg has to resend the order out and you get it slightly delayed.

I think that's the least of your problems. I'd be more worried about it even coming, period. Usually my stuff comes in quicker from the New Jersey warehouse as well though (I live in Streamwood).

Why not call FedEx directly with your tracking numbers....

Same happened to me with a newegg package, but it had nothing to do with newegg. I called FedEx directly and the operator could not understand why the package was still in the warehouse instead of being in a truck for delivery. I received the package the very next day earlier than the normal delivery time.

On a sour note, I know from experience that both FedEx and UPS will not make delivery times sometimes and it has nothing to do with the busy season. Many a times I was home waiting for a package and no package. Later at night they updated the tracking with "NO ONE PRESENT AT HOME", and changed the delivery date to the next day or even 2 days later.

But what can we do? This happens maybe once or twice a yr for me. In all fairness they do provide a good service most of the times.

Lmao, As I am writing this post Fexex has just delivered one of the two packages to my house. It turned out to be my E-vga 6600gt As for the other package I am at a loss. I checked the tracker and it said for my video card, arrived at LA sorting center / delivered to house... But for the other package it still says LA sorting center / still there... I guess they just got lazy and stopped updating their tracker stats, so I hope by noor or sometime they will update the last and final packages location in illinois.

I had a package coming from california to ontario across the border. It went from california to ohio, and then they stopped updating their tracker. It showed as being in ohio for 3 days after the finally delivered it to my house in ontario. They totally skipped updating the tracker as soon as my package came to ohio...

I orderd parts to build a new system for a friend of mine and it came in three boxes. Two of them came the same day hours apart on two different fed ex trucks and the other one was due 3 days ago and now the tracking number has been changed from due on 12/24 to left sorting facility. They are still better than ups though.

Question: Why do they split the orders from the New Jersey and California locations? I ordered from there and they did the same thing. Is it because the different warehouses supply different things? And ya, the California shipment is always a pain in the ass, I live in Texas and the shipment from NJ got here 2 days faster.

I worked for UPS for 5 years, 4 of those years were spent as a Scanning/Tracking Supervisor. I'm not so sure about Fed-Ex, but UPS tracking info is updated almost real time. I was able to scan a package in our hub and less than a minute later the info was availible on the UPS website.

I'm not very fond of Fed-Ex and their package release policies (you have to sign to get your package, vs. UPS where they just will leave it at the door).

Anytime you have tracking/delivery problems, your best bet is to call customer service of the shipping company. More often than not they can find your package and are often willing to upgrade the service level so the package gets to you on time or faster if it is late. I can't tell you how many times I've had to go digging through trailers looking for packages to reroute/upgrade them.

For me about 40% of the time they make us sign and the rest they just leave it at the door. I can't wait for my fedex package from newegg to arrive. It is my first newegg package being sent to my from the NJ warehouse as opposed to the CA one.

Sometimes the guys on the trucks just don't seem to want to do the jobs they are paid for. On one occasion I was sitting playing scrabble on my kitchen table with a view out of the window of the driveway, the front door is less than 10 feet away from me...

UPS truck pulls up... Driver gets out scribbling on something, no package in hand....
I head for the door at the same time...

I hear the mailbox clank as I reach for the doorknob.....

I realise the door is locked, unlock the door, turn the knob, step outside, the driver is halfway to his truck....

I shout "hey!", he ignores me.....

I reach in the mail box and pull out the "you weren't home" slip

I shout "Wait! I'm here" and wave my arms as he slams his door shut and kicks up dust spinning his wheels to set off.

That was a) freaking bad service b)freaking rude and c)freaking ridiculous

I never intend to use USP by free choice again.

I signed a waiver so Fedex leaves the packages at my doorstep, but not sure if they would for a package that costs more than $100...

Fed Ex and UPS

Fed EX does not seem to do very accurate tracking, my stuff according to FedEx was in CA when it was delivered. For FedEX, look at the date is to be delivered, in my experience, it will get there then. UPS has a very accurate tracking system, and I think they have upgraded it some this year.

As far as dropping off a package with nobody home, I think that is a call for the driver to make. Think about dropping something off at your friends house when they are not home... is it ok, or is there a good chance of it getting stolen? I know you can tell FedEx to leave stuff at your house when you are not at home, but a high dollar item might need a person there to sign for it.

You need to call UPS and report that, there is no reason for it! 1 800 pick ups is their number. The company I work for owns a UPS shipping outlet, and if you do not get any results, PM me the tracking number and I will call UPS to try to prevent that from happening again.

I love UPS's tracking system, and FedEx delivery time! Maybe a merger would help us out!

Have a good one!
