Does an AMD64 3200+ OC'd to 2.2ghz runs as fast as an AMD64 3500+ or slower ?

Im talking about chips that are both 939's and 90nm

Im thinking of getting an AMD64 thats over 2ghz mark not sure which one to get.

thanks

Well, overall, "faster" because of the FSB being pushed up, but you won't notice it.

Yeah the 3200 if it reaches 3500 speeds will be just as fast, but then if your overclocking the 3500 may have more headroom to oc, and be faster in the end

Actually, I can say this is not true. A64 systems won't gain anything more in performance with higher FSB. Using 300x8(Mem: 200MHz) is as fast as 240x10(Mem: 200MHz).

compared like that, of course they would perform the same, but with the memory in 1:1 there will be a noticable difference.
but with dropping the multi on the 3500+ you can archieve the same.
AFAIK people prefer the 3200+ because of price/performance ratio.

Thats only because your Ram is bottlenecking the HTT interface. If you used PC4400 memory and ran 275DDR for the ram, your HTT would run noticeably faster at 1100MHz (275X4 HTT).
