I have a 120GB Maxtor SATA HD that I've been using in my comp for about a year. Today I tried to install a 250GB MAxtor P-ATA as my primary IDE(master) and things went to hell!! Even after I removed it, I could not normally boot Windows XP. When everything SEEMS set up properly, I get a boot error. It tells me to setup boot material or insert it into the correct drive and press a key. It appears that everything is configured correctly in the BIOS and I have tried many combinations and set the enhanced IDE mode to "P-ATA +S-ATA". I have an ASUS P4P800-VM motherboard, I don't know why this would cause such a problem. This is a friend's account so disregard any previous info about "my" computer.
Thanks a lot!
