X800 XT to X800 XT platinum. Worth it?

I got a Sapphire X800 XT (PCI-EX) and wanting to upgrade to a X800 XT Platinum. Would this work? Im pretty new to overclocking especially to video. so dont mind my n00bish questions. but are there different bioses for different interfaces? (AGP-PCI-EX)

Im also running ATI Tool and seems to crash my core...lol I put fuind max core it set it from 500 to 567 but the crashes.. so my question is. is the Platinum bios ok to get or not? lol

test out platinum speeds (520/560) in all your games, you can use 3d05 to stress test, just make sure it's artifact free before your flash

there really isn't a point in flashing if you can just overclock it to max speeds and leave it though, you gain nothing besides seeing PE in the settings

If you can clock it up that high then i wouldnt flash it, shoot i wouldnt even overclock it at all. I mean if you can play a game 1280 1024-1600 1200 at high settings then what is there to add to that? 5 more fps?

Haha. You can always do the hand test. 50F would feel room temperature or colder. 50C would feel hot.

im thinking of selling my xt-pe. Yea im faster than alot of Ultras in DirectX games but they are also in the high 90s to 100 fps whereas in the Doom3 engine which is what Quake4 will be using the Utlra maxes in the 70s when the xt-pe in trying to hit 60fps. I think thats more critical to me. Im thinking the Ultra will have higher Min framerates in Doom3 than the Xt-Pe by a good margin as well.

ATi is Canadian so I imagine their temps will be in Celsius.

Doesn't flashing your X800 to an XT unlock certain shaders or something? Or possibly extra features? I could be wrong ..

I am waiting for my X800 XT PCI-Ex hopefully it will arrive tomorrow considering it New Year Eve. I will be selling my current VGA BFG 6800 Ultra OC due to a major Nforce4 PCI-Express upgrade. I hope I am choosing the right card, but as I understand it the XT is basically an underclocked PE, which once overclocked should be as fast as my current 6800 Ultra. I will also get more for the 6800 than I will be paying for the new X800 XT

It is a bit sad that I am going through all off this just so that I can play Everquest 2 in all its glory - there is a widespread problem with the 6800 series in EQ2.
