so which one is a better value
the
6600gt's
6800's
6800le's

since all of them have 128MB in general..

Do a little searching and you'll find that this discussion has played out many a time. My personal opinion is that the 6600GT is the best deal, though there are many who feel a 6800nu (then unlocked and overclocked) is the way to go. The problem with a lot of the 6800's is they don't have working PureVideo features, and the whole pipeline unlocking undertaking is inconsistant, and yields as many problems as successes. At least with a 6600GT you know what your getting and it's plenty fast at a great price. Good luck deciding. :D

6600GT is the best deal, while the 6800 performs the best. The 6800le should not even be considered IMO since the 6600GT beats it in a lot of tests I have seen and it is cheaper.

True, but even the 6800LE can be flashed, right? The problem with the 6800LE & NU is that they only have 128 MB RAM - slow RAM too - something that obviosly can't be changed through flashing. Don't get me wrong, one could of course OC the RAM and change the timings in the BIOS - but there's still a huge difference between say the 3.5 ns RAM of these cards, and the 2.0 ns-mem of the 6800GT.

After having owned 4 6800nu cards and now a 6600GT as well as a evga 6800 LE 256 DDR3 that ran 455/1230 I would say the 6600GT is the best bang. It will overclock further with stock sink fine, so wil the 6800nu cards.

It has faster DDR3 ram, the 6800 cards use slower ram BUT they may softmod, 2 of my 4 did, with the successful softmod they are excellent value easily hitting 375-400/900 mem speeds in most cases or at least for me.

If you are willing to hunt for used 6600GT or 6800NU buy whichever is cheaper. I got a BFG 6800NU for $225 shipped that softmodded and I bought my 6600GT for $197 shipped. The 6800nu's edge is the 256bit vs 128 but the higher clocks of the 6600GT almost make up for that but not quite. The 6800nu is more powerful but the 6600GT will play anything fine with great fps and you can buy it less if you are okay with buying used as I do
