All of a sudden my board takes forever (2 min.) to boot up to windows start screen. 20 seconds just to identify the IDE drives. I just got this board a few months ago, seemed fine, now this. Red and green lights OK. I've done a lot of Bios upgrades but this one baffles me. Board is at bios #25, would it do any good to go to 27? How is it done on this board. The Awardflash is too big to go on a floppy, so do you do it inside of windows?
I used to use ABITFAE. It worked very good.
Some help, please. :-/
Thanks,
Al

It's the hard drive. Darn it. Just replaced it with an older Maxtor and it breezes thru bios like it's supposed to.
But I could still use some help on updating the bios.
Thanks,
Al

Awdflash is not to big to go on the floppy.

You should have a total of five files on the floppy to flash the bios chip.

Personally I'd flash one of the many modded BIOSes that are available for this mobo. They are known to increase FSB and bandwidth effectivity.
