I had a new motherboard fitted to my pc the other day, and now it only reads my cd-rewriter drive, which has changed from 'E' to 'D'

This drive was added to the computer sometime ago, and now the origianl drive that was there is no longer appearing.

Any ideas?

Sorry if this is an easy fix, i'm new & real dumb with pc's

Welcome to the Forums!

First, a couple of questions:

What kind of drive is not appearing? Is this CD-ROM by chance?

Was the operating system reinstalled?

What configuration and specs does the system have? Motherboard, drives, OS, etc

Does the other drive appear in Disk Management or BIOS?

Have you checked the jumpers, if you reconfigured the connections?

If the drive does not appear in either BIOS or Disk Management, then recheck your cables and connections. Something may not be properly connected.
