I'm wanting to OVERCLOCK my pc. Ibought a new cooling systm for my CPU. a new power supply unit and i have 4 exauhst fans. Im try getting a new 528MB DDR PC2700 Stick of ram. I am running a P4 1.7ghx CPU... my FSB is 100mhz.. My goal is to get my 1.7ghz to a 2.0ghz by overclocking it. how do i do so? in my BIOS at startup? if so, what settings do i chnage to what?? here are my total spec son my PC, and THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Well this thread would go either in the intel cpu section or in the intel mobo section, but anyway what your going to have to look for is a way to increase your fsb, but your oc can be limited to a couple of things, speed of your ram, cooling and core of the cpu, but eventually you'll understand this. I bet there is a sticky around here in the forums somewhere after this is an ocing forum, cause its late and I can't write a whole guide on this, I'm gonna go look for that sticky and after your done reading you can ask any question here. Also to have the thread moved your going to have to contact a mod.

Another thing is to know if the mobo has agp/pci locks, that's going to be very important to have a high stable oc.
