Couldn't People Forge Heatware?

How legitimate is Heatware ... really. I mean, come on, people can go and take someone else's perfect Heatware and say it's their own. If someone were to do this, you'd never know they were a bad seller/buyer or something. I don't know. Maybe Heatware needs more specialized protection? What do you people think?

Heatware has the user's email address displayed and you should email the person at the email listed in their heatware to make sure its really them. If they only contact you from that address its not enough because From: fields can be spoofed AFAIK.

I could answer this one but maybe somebody like Luta or SSS would provide a more comprehensive answer.

Yeah, I remember there being some incident where a bad trader with a similar name to a good trader here started stealing the good trader's heatware. I think SSS dealt with him with some good ol' fashioned 0wnage.

I was the one whose Heat was borrowed. Thankfully, dahunan from anandtech emailed me to see about the sale and it was stopped before it became an issue. My neutral evaluation there is from BigC and is a simple warning to confirm identity.

The troll also attempted to use chickenisgood's heat from 2CPU.com. I PM'd SSS as soon as I heard and there were actions taken immediately. This is why most of my trading is here.
