Another finished watercooling setup... (pics)

Well, I know that these kinds of posts helped me out infinitely when it came to designing and fabricating my setup, so I figured I'd add to the lot. As it goes, a picture is worth a thousand words...

The internals:

Swiftech MCW6002-64
Silverprop FusionHL
DTek Pro 120 heatercore
AquaXtreme 50Z-DC12
Clearflex60
Distilled water + 12% Hy-Per Lube from PepBoys

This is my Antec SOHO case stripped naked (sorry for the flash):

This is after I finished cutting everything with the dremel. I cut the large hole in the front but left some corners so I could screw the heatercore through. I also cut out the bottom 3.5" rack, in addition to some holes in the mobo tray so I could reorganize my wiring later.

Positioning the parts. The hardest was by far the pump's location: far enough away from the heatercore to accomodate a T-line, but not blocking my vid card or sound card. I drilled and screwed the pump permanently into position.

Leak-testing and soon to be filling and bleeding. I know, I know-- shouldn't have leak-tested near the components, but I had everything clamped down so well that there's no way there was going to be a leak. There was a hole in my radiator fins, but I managed to seal that up overnight with some heavy duty glue. In any case I ordered a new radiator just to be safe.

Finished! With a pic of the clean-wiring.

I booted the system up at 34 degrees Celsius-- about 12 degrees down from my SLK948U/Vantec Stealth. My 6800 Ultra was reading 36 degrees Celsius instead of its usual 56.

I'm happy.

Thanks guys

Agreed, that looks pretty darn foamy! And I thought my water was cloudy... that looks like water and flour :P

Looks good though, everything looks nice and clean.

That's just my setup bleeding. Look at the last pic which I just added (had to turn of the PC to take the pic, heh) and you'll see it's all clear in that one. Bleeding only took a few hours, I felt lucky.

If you look at the T line in the 4th pic, and then the 5th pic, you'll see how much air was let out after bleeding. Dropped about eight inches in all.

Perhaps I'll trim my T-Line eventually. The problem is where to put it.

From the pump up to the CPU, down to the GPU, over to the rad, then back to the pump.

did u buy most of the parts from different vendors or? im trying to piece my WC system together but i dont wanna do a buncha diff orders, i need a place that sells the swiftech mcw6002-64, silverprop fusionhl, and aquax 50z, plan on getting the tubing and fittings else where maybe at work. I found a site for each thing just wondering if theres anywhere to get them all at once. Also is the dtek pro a chevette core? if not whats its dimensions and the dimensions on your case, checking to make sure it will go allright in my case.

I bought my parts from three vendors: Jab-tech (MCW6002, tubing), Cooltechnica (pump, clamps), and Frozenmods (Silverprop). I bought some things from the classifieds here, like the radiator. Also, I got some odds and ends from Lowe's such as the mounting hardware for the radiator and the tubing clamps. It's just a matter of finding what works.

If I were you I would check Criticool, I think they are your best bet for carrying EVERYTHING in one place. I had a hell of a time trying to crunch my buying into large pieces.

The Dtek core isn't a Chevette core, it's designed solely for computers.

Read about it here.

I know, it looks like it, right? Luckily, I managed to put the pump far enough forward in the case that its outlet just allows the GPU tubing to pass without constriction.

EDIT: 5 stars! Nunchaku skills, spear-hunting skills, and now post-writing skills...

Looks good. Did you have to tip the case at all to get all of the air out of the waterblocks?

Oh, and you have your cpu block mounted the wrong way. Looks like you forgot to read the directions.

As long as middle is inlet , does it really matter ? I think it was more a matter of tube routing rather than user error though.

Anyway , got some results for us Odie812 ?

The corner outlet should be on either top corner. This allows the air that settles at top to be bled out.

You're right, in the photo I was looking at it looked correct. Maybe I was looking at it wrong, in any case. Well, be right back while I tip it over!

The green is HyPer Lube, which I got from PepBoys.
