Yes, I know that I should get at least PC3200 for an Athlon 64 system, but cost is an issue, and I'll have to upgrade components as I can afford them. I realize that by using PC2700, my FSB may be limited to around 333 MHz. My question is whether the Asus A8V Deluxe board will allow the FSB to be slower than what the processor was meant to run at (400 MHz). Thanks!

Whoops! Sorry about that. I PM'd I.M.O.G. as well. My browser wasn't responding, so I hit the submit button a number of times. Learned my lesson.

It should allow you to run your ram at 166Mhz...you should see a selection that gives the memory selections...at the top or bottom...there should be a setting "max memory clock" or something to that effect...select the 166 option...

Now...why is there like quad posts of this same question in the same forum area?
