since i modded my x800 im having a little power trouble
either i underclock it or i take out my fans and spare hdd's to stop the damn thing locking during games :(
but i need to run every thing.

so is it possible to use 2 psu's (money is tight right now and cant afford a decent psu) in the 1 pc ?
i was thinking run the mobo, hdd's, cdroms and fans off one 400w psu and my gfx card alone on the 550w (neither are true power btw)
of course every thing would run fine and dandy power wise but would both psu's needed to be turned on at EXACTLY the same time ? or could i turn on the one for the gfx card first and then turn on the other. Obviously the other way around would cause damage to my gfx card.

or

have the mobo and gfx card only on the first
the hdd's, cdroms and fans on the second
in which case the hdds etc would needed to be turned on first and the mobo+gfx second

would this cause any damage to any hardware or any booting problems ?
thanx for any help :)
