Hi there :)

I am fixing a friends computer (whats new), the board in his machine died recently, so I have an RMA request in at the minute with a very slow company, so it could be A good while before I get a replacement. And the usual story he needs his computer back in a hurry.

So Would it be posible to switch boards without having to reinstall windows if the boards are similiar?

Board that died :

And this is the closest thing I can find in a hurry :

What would happen If i slotted that thing in??

Cheers

Second link dont work..

I think it is better to do a rinstall as it appears that the board ya get will remain his main board right ? And yes you can usuallydo what you are asking BUT can get serious drived incompatablities,To get past that bot into safe mode and uninstall chipset and video card drivers ...then boot into windows and install the drivers from the disks ya have.
