I'm buying a new comp for my bday (Feb. 17 in case anyone wants to send me a present or something :p

The numbers are the cheapest price I could find, so if you can find something cheaper, please tell me. URLs are there so I can double check specs or whatever and so I know where I found it. I'm mainly wondering about compatibility. Just a little explanation on my choices: definitely want the p5ad2e, i love the shark, dont flame me plx! :), 560j is perfect for what i need, no stupid $1000 3.46ee. goin with the pc2-5400 dual channel. i was gonna get corsair, but the timings on that and the ocz are the same, and the ocz is cheaper (unless newegg gets the corsair in stock before i buy). psu is pretty obvious, same with cooling; the monitor is actually for my bro and i'm gonna take his. he likes it so its perfectly fine. with the fan controller: i like that one because it can also control the lights on the case. the only issue i have is that i can't get a number on the rpm of the fan. I looked into other controllers, but i cant find any that fit my color scheme. so if you know of a good silver/blue (silver with blue leds rather) fan controller, let me know please. and i like the slim keyboard. i can type faster on it

My advice:
Get PC4200 and with the extra 80 bucks upgrade your video card...that'll give you an incrtease you'll notice...I doubt you'll notice the difference between PC4200 and PC5200 except in benchmarks..the video card is much more important

And get a 74gb raptor instead of 2 36's....it has a much faster seek time compared to 2 36's in RAID 0, it's cheaper, you don't have to worry about RAID controller failures and increase drive failure AND heat buildup, The added bandwidth is negligable for loading games (checkout the storage section for more info on that).

Not sure on that LCD...might ghost...it's more dependant oh how sensative your eyes are though...I know I couldn't see ghosting on a 4 year old envision peripherals LCD....just make sure you read up on

What vid card should I get if not the x600? I don't play games much. I play the occasional CS and dod, and I might get hl2, but I don't play too much. Mainly do web/graphics design and I'm getting back into programming. The monitor has good reviews. Nothing about ghosting that I could find. Thanks for the advice with the raptors. After doing some reading, I'm definitely going with 1 74 gb raptor. I can use the money I save one the hdd to upgrade the vid card. I guess it will be kind of important. What vid card should I get staying under a $2050 total. I updated my list with the info you've given me. Found the raptor on new egg for 155 with a mail in rebate!

what about a fan controller? and btw i like ati so im not likely to get nvidia, but if it works better, i'll go with it since i've used both and am happy with both. as long as it doesnt take 2 pci slots
