Please help if you can, with an IWILL KA266

Thanks in advance for any and all input.
1:
I am travelling and did not bring the "sound-riser-card" with me, but ofcourse I still have the "onboard" sound jacks. I picked up a cheapie set of speakers, and no sound. I looked through the BIOS, and even broke down and took a peek in the manual, there is no mention of how to "enable/disable" the onboard sound. Am I missing the obvious? Is there a jumper on the mobo, or is the "riser" required or the sound to even work? No MAX P. is killing me
2:
The IWILL website doesn't appear to have a record of the BIOS I have. Again, am I missing the obvious. I'm starting to feel real dumb, take a look, this is what I have: Award BIOS KA266PLUS/32402A (AUG02.2001). Any help is greatly appreciated.
I must say that this mobo is awesome, and only misses one thing: Core Voltage. If this mobo had more voltage adjustments it would be as good as the ePox 8k7a.
I've had the A7A, A7V, A7M, 8K7a, AK31 rev2, AK32,and one Abit. I stand firm that the Epox is the best, but this Iwill runs a close second when it comes to "out-of-the-box" usage.
BTW if anyone can point me to a volt-mod for this mobo please do!

I've got no idea. I haven't that board, but at least you aren't being ignored.

Good luck.

The BIOS version that your board came with is 0802 (for August 02). The newest version is 0831 (for August 31), which is available from Iwill's support site...

As far as an onboard audio jumper, I have the KK version...but I would think that the Audio jumper is probably in pretty much the same location (in the lower LH corner near PCI5). Jumping pins 1 & 2 enables onboard sound, jumping pins 2 & 3 disables it.

One of the boards discussed in the following voltage mod article at AthlonOC is the KA266. Whether or not the mod will work with a "plus" version, I don't know. You still might want to give the article a read though, it covers quite a few different boards by different manufacturers.

I found that BIOS, but am kinda scared of it because the site states "THIS BIOS IS FOR PRODUCT 32403, and I have 32402A. I hope I'm just being anal and it wouldn't hurt a thing to flash it, but I've screwed the pooch on a BIOS flash before, and really would like some assurance before I do tha deed. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately Iwill's support site is down right now, so I can't check on the version or product numbers. I would recommend holding off flashing until their site is back up...I'll need to double check the product codes with the BIOS versions.

I checked a few sites that I know of, which have modded BIOS's for the newer Iwill boards...and there's nothing available for the KA266+.

http://www.biosmods.com has modded BIOS's for the KA and KK versions (no Plus versions unfortunately).

http://www.x-faqtor.com has the modded Luckydaze and Mr (Mushkin Rules) Bios's.

http://members.axti.com/schadow1/bios has the modded Schadow1 BIOS's.

http://www.turkoc.com/suruculerprogramlar.htm has the modded TurkOC BIOS's.

Well, the Global section of Iwill's site is back up...

http://www.iwill.net/home/home.asp

...and I couldn't find the KA266Plus BIOS listed in the updates section of the support site. The 32402A BIOS version isn't listed, nor is the KA266Plus even mentioned. The BIOS file you need is KAP0818.bin...that much I've been able to find out.

I would probably post a new thread in their BBS, and see if you get a response...

http://support.iwill.net/cgi-bin/ebb...rd.pl?Session=

...and keep bumping it up until you do. I found one thread in the "BIOS Problems" forum, whereas someone else with the same board is also unable to find a BIOS update...so you might want to follow up on that.

Thanks for the help, unfortunately the people at that BBS aren't nearly as knowledgable as the folks around here. ,but I will wait patiently. Just kind of FYI: This system will reach 169 FSB setting, but I have lowered it back to stock until I get some of the quirks worked out. If it weren't for these quirks and a voltage limitation this would be almost as good as the epox, but alas the ali chipset just doesn't have the "getup and go" the AMD does. If anyone else has this mobo I'd appreciate your experiences.

I have the KA266-R, and there is a jumper on my board. It is down by PCI #4. I will try and post the diagram.
