Check out what I made . I felt like showing it off today. Questions & Comments are always welcomed.

Cost me nothing to make. All the stuff there was recycled (even the copper tubes) To date I have:

Ford Escort Heater core $11
Evercool waterblock Free
Reservoir Free

Not too bad for $11 huh :). All thats really left to make a basic system is a pump, fan, tubing, & various other nick nacks like hose adapters to get the heater core & CPU block to standard sized tubing (unless the core has 1/2" tubes already which it may have from eyeballing it. I'll know when it gets here on Tuesday or Wednesday).

sweet.. i am gonna make one too.. looks easy ..sounds easy .. and i gota alot of things to make it with.. sweet

Grammar fixed.

I saw someone make something like this (big round cylinder) & I figured why not try using a CD-R spindle. I never though about a vortex happening lol. I take it if I have one it will add air bubbles to my loop right? I guess if that happens I will make another one with different barb placement. You can use your X-Acto knife as a drill to make the base hole. it'll end up being ~3/8" wide. Good news for the crowd that uses 3/8" stuff. I cut away carefully to get it ~1/2" wide. If there were any spots that were being strained by the barb I cut away at them a little more until I got a good fit.

It took me about 5 minutes for each hole & about 10 minutes to apply all of the Silicone I.

Fill it up high enough and you won't have to worry about a vortex. I'd worry about the thing falling apart though. You definitely need to leak test that first.

Grammer error, Should be

;)

Also, You might have to watch out for vortex's on that res.

You don't capitalize after a comma either. Lolz

o Come ON we are a overclocking forums ..not a bloddly word spelling palce ..drop it guys.

well i finshed off my 20 cds last night so i might try something like that.. but i think i would be better off getting one of them jars that lock.. or use one of my moms bloddly crappy tupperware things.. lol (sorry.. yea ..i talk in life like that too.. with bloddly too.. )

also.. the last 2 posts i think of as spaming.. someone under 10 posts.and soemone under 100.. once you get 500 and up ..then go spam or give good info and ask good qustions

My question is why are you hosted off a dog biscuit web page?

I think it would stay together pretty well. The threads at the top push the two halves together. I still wouldn't trust it to be somewhere where it could leak on components.

I only mentioned the grammar on the web page; I never mention grammar on forums or personal emails/messages. For two reasons, 1. Websites are normally considered formal; you should try to keep them grammatically correct. 2. Forums and personal messages are informal, so you should try to keep it grammatical to the point of being able to comprehend what the person is saying.

Its my mom's side business & has 100GB of transfer as well as 1GB of space. My email account is also on that server.

The Silicone I keeps everything well adhered. I'm sure it can be run with the top off. I'm putting this in a Waterbox most likely so slight leaking shouldn't be a huge issue since I'll most likely detect it.

Cool, whats the volume of that thing.......

I filled it up with ~32oz of water this morning. It had a little bit of room left.

I took my text into MS Word & had it grammar & spell check it & now everything should be fine. I don't mind being corrected on grammar & spelling; my ego isn't that big ;). In the articles I've written I've always had someone double check everything. That page was mostly made so I wouldn't have to type the same thing a million times & so that I can show off at whim. I suppose it's more impressive now that it grammatically correct :D.

Nice job! Did you have any problem with the barbs distorting the plastic of the case? The last time I built one of those, the walls of the spindle turned out to be too weak to hold them. Maybe it was just that brand, though...

On a side note, I bet you could make a cool, little mini cooling tower out of one of those (100 CD-R size, maybe) and some CD's with holes punched in them, at different heights along the spindle... But that's just an idea...

::engages spell-check function::

I made sure that the barbs didn't distort the plastic. Stress = bad. Wherever there was some stress on the plastic I cut the hole just a tad bigger until there was no more stress but the barb was still held on snug.

EDIT: I also wanted to mention that I got my heater core. It has 3/4" barbs so I will be shortening them & getting 3/4"-1/2" reducing couplers & using it in my system that way. I find that to be the simplest way to use it. It's fin area measures 160mm x 160mm so it will comfortably fit four 80mm fans or one 120mm fan. To save money initially I may end up some 80mm case fans I have & then switch to a 120mm fan if I find the 80s to not be to my liking.

I also was wondering, how well do those Spreeze/Masscool fans they have on newegg (the 15 for $15 deal) undervolt? Are they fairly quiet? I'm looking to quiet down my dad's PC & replace his case fans with some quieter ones (Spreeze 80mm fans are 28dBA & his current ones are 32dBA. undervolted, the spreezes should be fairly quiet I would guess). If they push a good amount of air while being pretty quiet I may use them on my rad.
