Sound Blaster Live 5.1 not found, need help finding it.

I have been trying to get SB Live 5.1 card in my daughters computer working. Here is what is running on the system.

Win98, 512mgs ram, 13gig hd,

Windows sees it as a pci adapter. When I try to install the drivers for Sound Blaster, I get a messenger that it could not find a Sound Blaster 5.1 card.
What am I missing?

Is there an onboard sound card? It might be conflicting with the SB, as mine did. Another thing, that I might ask, is why win98? I would recommend at least win2k, as win98 has been put into legacy products now I think, and I dont believe its supported, except for crucial fixes.
