old videocard and TFT

Hi there.I have an old videocard Matrox G400 and Philips 170C.The monitor does not accept the settings i gave him.Resolution , color depth , refresh rate nothing.The videocard works fine with CRT monitors.Is there any solution to this problem or i'll have to bay a new PCI videocard because the old AGP port is different than the new one.Please excuse me for the bad english
